ATTACKER Members Recording UNIVERSITY OF LIFE Debut
January 29, 2009ATTACKER drummer Mike Sabatini and bassist Lou Ciarlo are currently recording the debut release from their new project UNIVERSITY OF LIFE. According to a press release, "UNIVERSITY OF LIFE is more of a hard rock/blues-based band as opposed to ATTACKER's classic metal offerings, but still has some heavy tunes nonetheless." Besides all things metal, [Sabatini] and Lou are fans of classic, old-school hard rock as well and this is a great way to rock hard in a different way.
The decision to move forward before having a full lineup was made because Sabatini and Ciarlo felt "they needed to build a band culture from the ground up in order to insure strength in creativity and the ability to have speed to market." When asked if this meant the beginning of the end for ATTACKER, Mike and Lou responded, "Absolutely not. This is a just another vehicle to make all the music swirling around in our heads a reality. Think of it as therapy; you can't concentrate while hearing electric guitars in your head daily — the only cure is to have it run its course and let it out."
All guitars and bass for UNIVERSITY OF LIFE are being handled by Lou. Mike will be drumming as well as engineering and producing the recording at their studio, Dead City Recording in Hoboken, New Jersey.
The recording should be completed within the next few months and released in both stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound versions later this year.
ATTACKER is currently working on new material for an as-yet-untitled new album.
